By The Toronto Star

Oct 17, 2011, Toronto - Canadian university professors from Queens and McGill have made a public call for a concerted approach to second-generation biofuels.

In a Toronto Star op ed piece, professors Warren Mabee and Donald L.
Smith note that this new breed of fuels need not compete with food
acreage, and point out the growing challenges and opposition corn-based
ethanol producers are facing.

"A next-generation biofuel strategy will alleviate future pressure on
food stocks, help us stabilize transport fuel prices, and be better for
the environment than current alternatives — and has the potential to
revitalize resource-based communities across the country." See the complete article here .
