28, 2010 – The Township of Chapleau, Ontario, is working to attract new
investors to the community by identifying and developing mineral, forestry, and
energy biomass investment opportunities. This will be done through the support
of the Northern Communities Investment Readiness Program (NCIR), which is part
of the Ontario government’s five-year Open Ontario plan to create jobs and
economic opportunities in Northern Ontario. The province is providing $10,000
through the NCIR program to support the project, which is being managed by the
township and Superior East Community Futures Development Corporation.
