Explosion, fire at Pinnacle’s Lavington plant

Early on May 11, there was an explosion and fire at Pinnacle’s pellet plant in Lavington, B.C.

According to Global News, the fire broke out in the dryer system at approximately 3:00 a.m. The plant’s suppression system activated, keeping the fire isolated to a fan stack.

No injuries were reported, and the damage appears to be limited, Scott Bax, Pinnacle’s COO, told Global News. Production at the plant while the company conducts a preliminary investigation into the event.
