‘First of its kind’ RNG project proposed for Williams Lake, BC

On March 10, Williams Lake, B.C., Mayor Walt Cobb proposed the construction of a new wood fibre processing plant that would produce renewable natural gas (RNG).

Mayor Cobb said this would be the first project of its kind in North America, The Williams Lake Tribune reports.

The wood residuals would be turned into natural gas, which will be connected to a gas line. The city has been working with Transition Energy Inc., Fortis BC, the provincial ministry of forests and Atlantic Power Corporation on the project proposal.
