April 11, 2013, Port Moody, BC – Suncor Energy confirms about 225 barrels of bio-diesel have leaked at its plant in Port Moody, with a small amount of the oil seeping into Burrard Inlet.

The incident occurred four days ago, but details are only being released now, according to The Vancouver Sun.

Most of the bio-diesel was collected in a trench and disposed of, and Suncor spokesperson Sneh Seetal says Western Canada Marine Response Corporation is working with Suncor to complete the clean-up.

Port Metro Vancouver confirms 250 millilitres – about one cup – of diesel has been recovered from Burrard Inlet.
