NRCan forests report highlights growth of bioeconomy

Oct. 24, 2017 - Natural Resources Canada annual State of Canada’s Forests Report for 2017 includes a focus on the country's growing bioeconomy.

“The production of advanced materials, green chemicals and renewable energy sources is helping Canada break into new product markets. As a result, Canada’s forest sector is emerging today as a leading actor in the burgeoning bioeconomy,” the report states.
The report spotlights biochar production in Quebec’s Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region.
