NS to convert six provincial buildings to wood heat

The Nova Scotia government has indicated it is planning to convert dozens of government buildings to wood heat, with six tenders expected to go out shortly.

Lands and Forestry minister Iain Rankin said the province has a list of 100 buildings it is considering converting to biomass heat, according to a report in the Chronicle Herald.

The systems will likely run on wood chips supplied by local sawmills and woodlots.
