November 12, 2013, Wawa, Ont. – Rentech has been issued a
licence by the Ministry of Natural Resources that will allow them to move
forward with plans to convert a former OSB mill into a pellet production
facility in Wawa.

The licence is required by MNR for all mills that will use
more than 1,000 cubic metres of fibre annually. The licence also allows them to
convert the facility from an OSB mill, formerly owned by Weyerhauser, into a
pellet production facility.

Rentech expects to have pellet production at the Wawa site by
the fall of 2014. At capacity, the company plans to produce 360,000 tonnes per
year at the Wawa facility. Rentech already have a supply agreement in place
with Drax Power in the UK.

The Wawa facility is one of Rentech’s two northern
Ontario-based pellet production plants coming online. The other, based in
Atikokan, is expected to produce pellets to supply OPG’s Atikokan power plant starting
next year.
