Valmet has named Anu Pires as the company’s new senior vice-president of human resources, effective Sept. 1, 2024.
Pires comes to Valmet from Paulig Group, where she held the position of senior vice-president of human resources since 2018. Her career in human resources began as an HR trainee at Valmet, where she worked from 1996 to 1998. Since that time, Pires has held a variety of HR-related positions including: vice-president of HR at Lumene from 2017 to 2018; various HR management roles at Outotec from 2016 to 2017; head of HR, APAC Mobile Device Sales, Nokia integration at Microsoft from 2014 to 2015. Pires also held a variety of HR management roles from 1998 to 2014 working in Brazil, China, and India for Nokia.
Pires will report to the president and CEO of Vamet’s Executive Team and be based in Valmet’s head office in Espoo, Finland.
