wpacrbnMarch 12, 2013, Rotterdam, NL – The Wood Pellet Association of Canada (WPAC) announced the signing of a partnership agreement with the Rotterdam Biomass Commodities Network (RBCN).

Gordon Murray, executive director of WPAC and Peter-Paul Schouwenberg of RBCN officially signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) March 11 at a reception held at the Canadian Embassy at The Hague.

The document outlines how the organizations will cooperate by knowledge sharing, networking and organizing biomass events.

“RBCN is an organization dedicated to strengthening and promoting the Dutch bioenergy sector and bio-economy,” said Murray. “RBCN’s members include Dutch power producers, traders, pulp and paper companies, bulk terminals, and inspection companies. The Netherlands is far ahead of Canada in implementing bioenergy, so we are excited about this new opportunity to learn from our Dutch colleagues and we are looking forward to strengthening ties in one of our most important international markets.”

"It's great to sign a cooperation agreement between RBCN and WPAC," said Schouwenberg.
"In this way we connect the entire chain with each other. This is extremely important, particularly with regards to stakeholder management and the marketing of the biomass business."
